Wedding Party

Matt Houghtaling

Best Man

Matt is my best friend who I have known since elementary school. Over the last 22 years, we have gone on countless adventures together through Boy Scouts and band trips. Matt has been a constant in my life and the person I can always rely on when I need him. He always pushes me to do my best and has helped me through some of the hardest times. I love this guy like a brother.

Katie Pang

Maid of Honor

Katie is my best friend who I met in college. She listens to my problems and without fail will always keep it real. She is absolutely fearless and whenever she sets her mind to something she follows through. She really just knows who she is, and I admire her.

Daniel Tingzon

Groomsman

Daniel is the life of any party. He is the best host and the most generous person you will ever meet. His smile is infectious and he can always make me laugh. If you want to experience his magnetic personality, just ask him to show off some break dancing moves at the wedding.

Carolyn Fung

Bridesmaid

I met Caroline at the UCSC Science library and it was friendship at first sight. We spent many laughter filled study sessions together and it's thanks to her I managed to pass biology. Since then she has been my rock and is always supportive of me. I know that she will always have my back, because that is the kind of person she is.

Brian Downey

Groomsman

I first met Brian in middle school band class. He is the kind of friend where when he is standing there next to you, you feel like you can do anything. He is the ultimate brew-master whose craft beers are legendary. He also has the most fantastic, luxurious beard amongst all the groomsmen.

Katrina Hwang

Bridesmaid

I've known Kat since high school, but grew even closer to her in college. Kat is one of the funniest people I know. If you are lucky enough to be invited to one of her adventures you are in for a wild ride. Her outlook on life is amazing, since according to her it is all about making memories.

Spencer Brett

Groomsman

Spencer is one of my go-to guys. Since middle school, I have gone to him for advice on everything from career to the next video game we should all play. Who needs a psychiatrist when you have an amazing friend who is the voice of reason and exudes calmness? He also has what seems to be an unlimited supply of board games which is pretty sweet.

Victoria Khan

Bridesmaid

Victoria is my most stylish friend. If you ever need an opinion on the latest fashion trend, she is your go-to gal. Ever since we met at work a few years ago, we always make time for fun shopping trips. My favorite shopping adventure with Victoria is going to Koreatown to check out kawaii clothes and eating delicious Korean corn dogs with boba (preferably from Boba Guys!).

George Wang

Father of the Bride

What I love about my dad is how patient and generous he is. Living with two girls can be hard, but even during stressful times my dad always found ways to keep calm and always smile. My favorite childhood memory is playing card games with my dad and even when I was a sore loser he would always smile and play another game. -Amy When I first met Mr. Wang I was impressed with how creative he is, especially with home repairs. He once built a little gate to prevent Akira from going upstairs. Being the curious dog she is, Akira broke the gate latch and explored upstairs. He did not get angry, he just took out his toolbox, fixed the gate, and convinced Akira to come back downstairs to join the family. I look forward to the next home repair lesson, this time as his son-in-law. -Steven

Lisa Wang

Mother of the Bride

My mom is the strongest woman I know. A lot of the family go to her for advice and although I hated how much she would tell me what to do, now that I am older I totally understand. Whenever I feel stress about life or wedding planning, she helps calm me down, listens to what I have to say, and keeps me positive. -Amy I have always felt welcomed by Mrs. Wang. When I first met her, she trusted me with her family when I drove her family to Amy's UCSC graduation. She continues to trust me with taking care of her daughter. When I asked permission to marry Amy, her response was 'thank you for taking care of Amy...good luck!' -Steven

Todd Ethington

Father of the Groom

He is the man who taught me how to fix almost everything...and that it is not a project unless you bleed on it. 'Measure twice, cut once' is our mantra....along with 'don't tell your mom'. -Steven I am so glad that I can be myself around Mr. Ethington. We both appreciate anime and on a few occasions have sat down in front of the tv together to check out the latest shows on Crunchyroll. He is also a jack of all trades and can fix/build anything. When Steven first bought the house I didn't like how tiny the closet was. Mr. Ethington took on the challenge and did a complete remodel. As his new daughter-in-law, I am so excited to learn even more from him. -Amy

Julie Ethington

Mother of the Groom

Work hard, play hard. My mom models this life lesson: give it your all because it will be worth it in the end. Raising me took a lot of patience. From helping me write my school essays to showing me how to iron my clothes, I felt prepared to take on life and its challenges because of my mom. She built the foundation of who I am today. -Steven Mrs. Ethington knows how to bring out my personality. I am a naturally introverted person, but when she is around she always makes sure I feel included and am having fun. Even at family holidays, she always takes the time to check in with me and make sure that I am doing well and not going hypoglycemic (sometimes Steven forgets...). -Amy

Beckie Ethington

Sister of the Groom / Flower Pupper +1

Beckie is such an amazing baker, when I first tried her macarons I swore it could have come straight from Paris. I am excited that she will get to share her wonderful talent at the wedding. As an only child I have always wanted a sibling (I begged my mom...she said no), but I am so excited that in June Beckie will become my sister. I couldn't hope for anyone better. -Amy From our time living together in a shared room in LA to checking out houses in the Valley, Becks has taught me many life lessons over the years. Lessons like: it is more important to have fun than to win, that cheating in Monopoly is ok if you don't get caught, and importance of sharing. If I become a great husband, it will be because my little sister taught me how to be a great person. -Steven

Akira Wang

Flower Pupper

Ever since I was little I have asked for a dog. Once I moved out, a dog was the thing I was looking forward to most (outside of living with Steven of course!). I quickly learned what a big responsibility it was. Akira taught me patience while waiting for her in the rain to 'do her business'. She taught me how to enjoy simple things like a walk every day. And ultimately, she helped stay positive and always have fun. -Amy Within one month of moving in Amy told me she needed a dog. We began our search and at one point we were minutes away from adopting a Husky. I managed to convince Amy that a husky would not thrive in our condo, and she eventually found the Shikoku breed. I was a little skeptical at first but once Akira arrived I knew she was the perfect pupper for our family. -Steven

Lexi Lambeck

Officiant

Lexi has been a steadfast friend for half of my life. I just love the way she can bring out the best in people. She is also the unofficial historian of the group and has taken countless pictures capturing the many memories and mischief we have gotten into. I am so happy to have such an important person be the one to join our family together. -Steven I really got to know Lexi during our Las Vegas trip. What really stood out to me was how welcoming she was and how she made people feel super comfortable around her. Her energy lights up the room and we had an absolute blast that trip. I am looking forward to her officiating our wedding! -Amy
