Hayley was 4 months into her intern year of pediatrics residency and was on a mission to find her prince charming in the only way she had time and energy for- dating apps. One November evening she swiped upon Justin. After vetting his profile and determining there were no immediate red flags, she swiped right- it was a match! Justin messaged Hayley fairly quickly with an opener about true crime documentaries - a sure way to catch her eye. After some brief texting, they agreed to a first date at Mission Taco! The met up on a Monday evening. Justin was late because he struggled with the parking meter. Luckily, Justin's charm caused Hayley to overlook this first date fatal flaw. They had great and mildly awkard conversation over tacos and churros.
For a 2nd date, Justin went all in and asked Hayley to go to a 5SOS and Chainsmokers concert later that same week. "that's a rather expensive 2nd date"- Hayley thought. She was skeptical but due to concerts being her favorite activity, she agreed to go. It was fun and Hayley was won over. Justin continued to plan thoughtful and elaborate dates for weeks to come and the rest is history.
After over 4 years of dating, 6 trips to Disney World, and 2 trips to Disneyland, Hayley and Justin embarked on a week-long trip to Hawaii! It was their favorite vacation to date! The first half of the trip was spent in Waikiki where they enjoyed cocktails at their oceanfront hotel, hiked Diamond Head, road a beautiful sunset catamaran, explored Kualoa Ranch on a UTV, and celebrated Hayley's birthday oceanside. On Valentines day they traveled to Disney's Aulani Resort. It was a gorgeous sunny day and Justin wanted to walk down to the ocean shortly after their arrival. Hayley, very focused on the "no trespassing" signs, did not want to walk that path. Justin growing more annoyed by the second convinced Hayley that it was fine and did not apply to where they were going (he was right), and to the ocean lookout point they went. Next thing Hayley knew, Justin was on one knee and the most beautiful ring was sparkling in the Hawaii sun. It was a very easy "yes!".
