Lago Trasimeno
Visit the Islands – Isola Maggiore & Isola Polvese Take a boat ride to explore these beautiful islands. Isola Maggiore has a charming medieval village, while Isola Polvese offers nature trails, ruins, and a peaceful vibe. Relax at Castiglione del Lago Stroll the historic town with its fortress (Rocca del Leone), cobbled streets, and amazing views over the lake. Great spot for a gelato or aperitivo with a view. Go Kayaking, Paddleboarding, or Sailing The calm waters make it ideal for water sports. Several beaches and rental spots are scattered around the lake—especially in Passignano sul Trasimeno. Cycle the Lake Trasimeno Bike Trail There’s a scenic loop trail that goes around most of the lake—perfect for a relaxing ride through olive groves, lakeside paths, and hilltop villages. Watch the Sunset with Aperitivo The sunsets here are magical. Head to a lakeside bar in San Feliciano or Tuoro for a drink as the sky turns gold and pink over the water.
Marmore Falls
Start hiking one of the trails (Trail 1 is the most scenic and takes you alongside the falls). Stop at the Lover’s Balcony (Balcone degli Innamorati) for a dramatic, misty close-up. Continue to the Upper Belvedere for panoramic views of the entire waterfall. Visit Lago di Piediluco, a peaceful lake close by, perfect for a relaxing stroll or coffee. Optional quick stop in Terni for a walk through the historic center or a gelato.
