Alycia and Robert met at the Rowdy Reptile in Gainesville, FL on June 9, 2016. Alycia had been doing Sake Bombs with her girlfriends, while Robert had been at an all-you-can drink happy hour downtown with his friends, but they both decided to continue their nights at Rowdy's. Upon walking up to the bar with her friend, Alycia noticed a handsome guy glancing at her from the front entrance. The "Running Man" song was playing, and next thing you know, Robert was "running" up to Alycia, doing the famous dance. He then introduced himself as "Dragon" and so the love story begins. While they were talking that evening, "T-Shirt" by Thomas Rhett came on (and for all of you who know Alycia know that this is her favorite song, at least it was at that time) and Robert started singing along with her. Alycia was SWOONED...(thanks, T Rhett!). After that, Robert walked Alycia hand in hand back to her friend's doorstep where he gave her her last-first kiss. The following Monday, June 13, 2016, they had their first date. Robert picked Alycia up in his "blue carriage" and drove her to the Reitz Union to go bowling and play Foosball. After that, they sat outside the game room talking for hours, even after the Union had closed. Less than a month later, on July 11, 2016, Robert asked Alycia to be his girlfriend. During their three-year relationship, Robert and Alycia went to multiple theme parks, zoos, museums, concerts, hiking trails, comedy shows; and various cities, such as Nashville, Gatlinburg, Atlanta, and Houston, where they now live. For their 3-year anniversary they chose to celebrate in Los Angeles, CA. During this trip, on July 11, 2019, Robert and Alycia flew in a helicopter to a mountain peak in Malibu State Park and landed, where Robert got down on one knee and proposed. And, the rest, as they say, is history. Robert moved to Houston in the end of July, and, in February, they bought a house - where they will live with their dog, Tyco... Happily Ever Basford.
