First things first

OUR PLAN TO SAFELY NAVIGATE COVID-19 TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE

Planning in the midst of a pandemic hasn't been easy, and we appreciate your kindness and understanding ♥ We want our day to be a joyful, low-risk event. To that end, all guests five and up must test negative for SARS-CoV-2 within 72 hours of the event. We are confident that our guests are trustworthy and accountable enough for us to use the honor system. If you are unable or unwilling to fulfill this requirement, let us know as soon as possible. This is a large gathering of different ages & risk levels and this rule is not debatable. You can order 8 tests per household for free at covidtests.gov. If you don’t feel comfortable or safe attending, we completely understand! Your love and support are just as meaningful to us when expressed from a distance. Although this isn't exactly how we pictured our special day, it's important to us that we do our best to protect our family and friends so they are able to join us in celebration.

Change of Plans

FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE, WE ARE CHANGING THINGS UP

Due to COVID-19, Monica & Tyler postponed their wedding celebration until their first wedding anniversary. They would love for everyone to get together safely and ultimately decided that would be the best way to do it. The new plan: • May 29, 2021: They got married as planned (YAY!), but in a small ceremony with just immediate family and the wedding party. • May 29, 2022: The date of their first year anniversary, with a celebration that will be what they had originally planned for 2021. There will be a vow renewal, dinner, and partying (this is where you come in!).

How We Met

FIRST COMES FRIENDSHIP, THEN COMES MARRIAGE

Being from the same small town, Monica and Tyler saw each other in passing for years! They speculate that the first time they actually met was in pee-wee soccer the one summer that Monica played in 2002. It wasn’t until the end of junior year in high school, 2013, that their friend circles collided and they started hanging out more… then became good friends… then decided they like-liked each other… THEN started dating. Eight years later, they've decided they like each other enough to make it official!

The Proposal

OCTOBER 11, 2019

Monica and Tyler both have October birthdays. Tyler thought it would be clever to celebrate between the two so Monica wouldn’t suspect anything. It was a lovely evening of wining and dining for the first time at Lovechild, then, of course, dessert at The Pearl for ice cream to alleviate Monica's severe sweet tooth. After coming home, but before entering the house, Tyler gave Monica what she thought was a birthday card. It was not—it was a card filled with all the reasons he loves her, and once she finished reading, he proposed (Monica sobbed and had her eyes closed the whole time).
