We're Getting Married!

It was a Sunday, the night before George's hospital rotation at Shand’s in Gainesville, when we first met on October 13, 2019. Originally, we had planned to meet at a bar, but fate had other plans for us. Instead, we ended up at Celebration Pointe Theater to watch the movie Joker. From that first date, I felt something different about George. There was a tenderness in the way he kissed my hand during the movie that left me with butterflies in my stomach. Two weeks passed, and we became inseparable. We went to our first Halloween party together. But soon after, George's medicine rotation ended and he had to leave for residency interviews, marking the beginning of our long-distance relationship. George would drive five hours to Gainesville to see me, and I started to drive down to Miami to meet him. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit, and quarantine began. George had set up temporarily in Orlando, and we decided that if we were going to be quarantined, we might as well do it together. Three months passed, and George got accepted into a residency at Broward Health, while I was graduating from dental school. We didn’t like the idea of being separated again and so our careers started in Broward County and just like that, we moved into our first apartment together. George started his residency, and I began my first job as a dentist. Fast forward to September 22, 2022, when George proposed in Colombia. We were ready to take the next big step in our life journey together and now we hope you will join us on our first day as the Abreut family.

Fue un domingo, la noche anterior a la rotación del hospital de George en Shand's en Gainesville, cuando nos conocimos por primera vez el 13 de octubre de 2019. Originalmente, habíamos planeado encontrarnos en una barra, pero el destino tenía otros planes para nosotros. En su lugar, terminamos en el teatro Celebration Pointe para ver la película Joker. Desde esa primera cita, sentí algo diferente en George. Había una ternura en la forma en que besó mi mano durante la película que me dejó con cosquillitas en el estómago. Pasaron dos semanas y nos volvimos inseparables. Fuimos a nuestra primera fiesta de Halloween juntos. Pero pronto después, terminó la rotación de medicina de George y tuvo que irse para entrevistas de residencia, marcando el comienzo de nuestra relación a larga distancia. George conducía cinco horas hasta Gainesville para verme y yo comencé a conducir hasta Miami para encontrarme con él. Desafortunadamente, COVID-19 llegó y comenzó la cuarentena. George se instaló temporalmente en Orlando y decidimos que si íbamos a estar en cuarentena, podríamos hacerlo juntos. Pasaron tres meses y George fue aceptado en una residencia en Broward Health, mientras yo estaba graduándome de la escuela de odontología. No nos gustaba la idea de volver a estar separados y así comenzamos nuestras carreras en el Condado de Broward y, de repente, nos mudamos a nuestro primer apartamento juntos. George comenzó su residencia y yo comencé mi primer trabajo como dentista. Avanzando rápidamente hasta el 22 de septiembre de 2022, cuando George me propuso matrimonio en Colombia. Estábamos listos para dar el siguiente gran paso en nuestro viaje de vida juntos y ahora esperamos que se unan a nosotros en nuestro primer día como la familia Abreut.
