Gruene Historic District
Gruene, Texas (pronounced "green") is a Historic District located within the city of New Braunfels, about one hour south of Austin, and about one hour north of San Antonio.
Gruene General Store
Although very little has changed since the Gruene General Store was established in 1925, it remains as one of the most popular tourist attractions in town. Here you can find souvenirs from key chains and post cards to cowboy hats and candies for the whole family. Plus, it produces some of the best handmade fudge, honey butter and salsa around.
Gruene Antique Co
This antique store offers 6,500 square feet of antiques and collectibles for visitors to explore. At Gruene Antique Company, visitors can also get a sense of the town’s history as well as what makes central Texas so unique.
Gruene Hall
Gruene Hall, built in 1878, is Texas' oldest continually operating and most famous dance hall.
Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar
Located beneath Gruene’s landmark water tower, in the ruins of an 1878 cotton gin, overlooking the Guadalupe River, the Historic Gristmill has been considered one of the most unique dining spots in Texas for nearly half a century. A rare combination of history, location and turn-of-the-century architecture create the Gristmill’s legendary Texas experience.
Float the Comal River
Float the River! You can rent tubes at Texas Tubes or buy your own at Buc-ee's Convenience Store. Grab some beers and go float for a few hours in the sun.
