Long Beach and Boardwalk
Definitely way too many beaches to list, but this one is one of the recommended ones due to the variety of things you can do at the beach or in town! Free neighborhood street parking. If you're interested in more beaches, also check out Jones Beach, Robert Moses Park, Fire Island, Montauk, the Hamptons, Coney Island...and many, many more!

Lots of Italian influence in LI/NYC, and definitely worth it. Amazing gelato!

Old Westbury Gardens
Beautiful botanical garden, and nearby to some famous LI castles that you can also check out while you're in the area!
Sands Point Preserve
During the Gold Coast period of the early 20th century, prominent American families built great mansions on large estates as summer retreats along the Long Island Sound. The Sands Point peninsula was the famed “East Egg” in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Check out a nature program, complete a self-guided tour or join a guided tour of the mansions, or explore the gardens and grounds!
Montauk Lighthouse
LI is known for beautiful beaches and scenic lighthouses. Check out one of the most famous ones!
New World Mall (Food Court)

World Trade Center and 9/11 Memorial
Look over all of New York City from One World Trade Center (the Freedom Tower) and visit the location of the Twin Towers at the 9/11 Museum and Memorial. (Outdoor Memorial does not require admission.) One WTC is the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the seventh-tallest building in the world!
