Things To Do

New Orleans is full of wonderful things to do! We encourage you to explore on your own but wanted to provide some options as well.
Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden

1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA 70124
, (504) 658-4100

The sculpture garden is a wonderful and free activity in City Park. It can also be fun to rent a canoe and canoe through the sculpture garden and around city park. 10/10 recommend getting beignets at cafe du monde after and ending with some mini golf around the corner.

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA

I guess you can go here? If you want? It is the times square of New Orleans and not our number one recommendation. If you do end up here we recommend the speakeasy bar upstairs from Fritzel's European Jazz Pub. It is upstairs and sometimes you need a password to get in, it's vampire themed! Ask the bartenders to do a magic trick if you end up there.

Audubon Zoo

Audubon Zoo

6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 861-2537

Super fun for the kiddos! They have one of the world's only white gators (not albino, white gator). Get a daiquiri and stroll around the area.

The Country Club

The Country Club

634 Louisa Street, New Orleans, LA 70117
, (504) 945-0742

The Country Club is a fantastic bar with a really fun drag brunch, and a gorgeous pool in the back yard. It is down the street from Alma (our favorite Honduran restaurant) and around the corner from Rosalita's tacos so we tend to do tacos and swim! Get here early to avoid a line. Adults Only

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

Marrero, LA 70072
, (504) 589-3882

This is a bit out of town but is a lovely little swamp walk! If you do opt to rent a car and have some extra time definitely check it out.

Cooter Brown's Tavern

Cooter Brown's Tavern

509 South Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70118
, (504) 866-9104

We got engaged here!

The National WWII Museum

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 528-1944

It's a museum. About WWII.

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA

A fun street with bars, live music and an art market. Like Bourbon Street but less terrible.

Lafayette Cemetery No. 1

Lafayette Cemetery No. 1

1427 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130
, (504) 658-3781

Cemeteries are beautiful and unique here in swamp country. If you do opt to visit cemeteries, please be respectful.
