The Virginia Beach Oceanfront offers a boardwalk area with shops and restaurants. You can stroll in the sand, hop up to some boardwalk stores, or rent bicycles and pedal buggies for the boardwalk bike path strip. Plus, you can get there from our Reception site without ever having to drive! Facing the ocean from the boardwalk section connected to the Cavalier/Marriot Hotel, if you turn right, you'll find yourself walking closer and closer to the "hub" of the Oceanfront.... and if you walk far enough you'll find the Neptune Statue! (Try the Bride's favorite "Duck Donuts" on 31st Street! Fun Fact: when she first realized she was falling for the Groom, she brought a box "Duck Donuts" back to Ohio for him. It must have worked!)
The theme park of our area! About an hour's drive north of our wedding location, Busch Gardens is a theme park offering a variety of foods, rides, and music, each coordinated to sections of the park themed after European countries. (The Bride's favorite roller coaster there is "Pantheon")
In addition to being a beautiful area, Colonial Williamsburg offers an immersive walk through history as a key location in the birthplace of the United States, with both guided and unguided activities.
A smaller historic area, with similar vibes to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown is another place with beautiful scenery and cute shops.
