Church Island is only accessible by boat or a long swim. Luckily there's pontoon boats reserved through the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center, leaving the dock at 1:30PM SHARP. If you miss the boats, you'll have to swim like a champ, teleport, or meet up with us at the reception. It's a 20 minute ride to the island. Ceremony will start at 2pm. Park near the exit of Science Center's parking lot and head across the street to the boat dock. RESTROOMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON THE ISLAND. Please use restrooms in Squam Lake Science Welcome Center before you get on the boat. Be sure to have lunch beforehand, Squam Lake MarketPlace is a good spot, very close by! 863 US-3, Holderness, NH 03245

Church Island is where Hannah's father played the organ on summer Sundays in his mid twenties, helped by her mother, who turned the music sheets and managed the boys that hand cranked the wind into the pipes. Although he cannot be here in person, we honor his presence here through the music. This is why we chose to be wed at Church Island, and, of course, the beautiful location and it's a bit of an adventure! If there's light rain, we'll still try to head out to the island. Pack an umbrella just in case, and see the "Rain On Your Wedding Day" event for change of plans if need be. Again, restrooms are not available on the island. The boats will head back to the mainland after ceremony and a few pictures.

This is our back up plan if there's heavy rain and thunderstorms in the afternoon. It may take us a moment to switch gears and get down there, so the ceremony start time will be a bit later, 2:30pm. Start time will depend on travel time from the island to the mill. It's about a 30 minute drive. Parking is available next to the mill as you go up the hill, immediately to your right. Reception is on the 3rd floor. If you arrive early, please check out the exhibit on the 1st floor or walk the grounds and bridge.

We'd love to see you again! If you're up for a moderate, fun, 2 mile hike - join us Monday morning to hike up Rattlesnake Mountain and soak in the beautiful views of Squam Lake. We hope to be ready to rock at 10am, but double check with us the morning of as wedding parties tend to go late into the night! If the parking lots on both sides are full, there's another lot on your left continuing north a 1/4 mile on Rt 113, just around the bend.
