The closest airport is Queenstown Airport (ZQN), approximately a 1-hour scenic drive from Wānaka. Queenstown has regular domestic flights and international connections via Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch.
By Car
From Queenstown, enjoy a beautiful lakeside drive along the Crown Range or a slightly longer but gentler route via Cromwell. If you're traveling from Christchurch, expect a 5-hour drive through some of New Zealand’s most picturesque landscapes. Rental cars and shuttles are available for easy transport.

For those not renting a car, there are shuttle services available from Queenstown Airport to Wānaka. Be sure to book in advance!
