Hannah and Zoe have been friends since 2nd grade... well, maybe 3rd. They spent many years together overcoming awkward phases and having adventures from being the heroines in the middle school play "The Fearsome Pirate Frank" to camping in the pavilion at the fairgrounds for the high school equestrian team. After Hannah moved to Florida in 2020, Zoe followed a few months later, sparking a new era of adventures in Florida. This led to them working together in marine science, lots of kayaking, boating, and fishing adventures, and even both serving on a nonprofit board dedicated to conserving manatee habitat. If you ever need help putting on a 5K, Zoe and Hannah can make it happen! Zoe has been one of Hannah's biggest supporters and has been there for Hannah through it all. These days, Zoe continues to give back to the environment working for a water management district in South Florida.
Claire Taylor

Claire and Hannah became good friends freshman year after trying out for (and making!) Berry College's Western Equestrian Team. They bonded over being the two freshman blondes that coach could never differentiate. Over the years at Berry, they spent lots of time at the barn, hiking over the summer on Berry's campus, and going on road trips with their friends. Always up for anything, Claire is the ultimate adventure buddy -- Sam has big shoes to fill in that regard. Now, Claire works in New Jersey as an Equine Veterinarian.
Sarah Patterson (Cooper)
Bridesmaid
A year ahead of Hannah at Berry College, Sarah was also a member of the Western Equestrian Team. Early on, Sarah took Hannah under her wing, and their friendship grew from there. Sarah's enthusiasm for life, strength of character, and her ability to encourage make her a one-of-a-kind lifelong friend. Hannah and Sarah have spent many hours having horse adventures (team bonding!), connecting over Bible Study, and hiking and spending time outdoors (there was one questionable camping trip, but ultimately, they made it out alright). Sarah unfortunately won't be able to attend the wedding, but for good reason -- she and her husband, Justyn, are welcoming a new horse girl to the family in June!
Jaredt Hultink
Best Man
Jaredt and Sam met in fourth grade at a tiny classical Christian school and became good friends immediately. Their friendship has deepened over the years through debates about religion, camping trips, time spent up north at Big Star Lake, and the occasional cigar. Jaredt's work ethic, maturity, and faith have always inspired Sam.
Nathanael Kazmierczak
Groomsman
Nathanael and Sam met in Gospel Choir their freshman year at Calvin. Nathanael shortly thereafter helped Sam survive Calc 1 and a particularly challenging computer science course, two good deeds for which Sam is still grateful. The two of them lived together their senior year at Calvin until the pandemic sent everyone home. "Kaz" has managed to shoot down some of Sam's crazier ideas while still always being there to support him as a friend. He's both a chemist and classical guitarist.
Andrew Huston
Groomsman
Sam and Andrew met. They don't actually know when. They became friends and, shortly thereafter, neighbors. The two of them have been known to take late-night strolls through Heritage Hill, discussing theology, philosophy, or the Prose and Poetic Eddas. They continued their adventures on a trip to Italy, traveling around Tuscany in a tiny Fiat 500, and can periodically be seen cruising through Kent and Ottawa Counties on their motorcycles. Andrew is probably one of the only people you'll find listening to audiobooks of St. Augustine's writings while on a Harley.
