New Belgium Brewing Company
We toured New Belgium on an anniversary trip to Asheville and had a blast! Visit their website to book a tour, see the food truck schedule, as well their beer line-up. Located in the River Arts District, which is a creative hub along the French Broad River.
Sunny Point Café
One of our favorite breakfast spots in Asheville! Gets VERY crowded on the weekends, so try getting there when they open. They focus on upscale comfort food and even have their own garden!
Fox and Beaux Boutique & Custom Jewelry Design Studio
Stop in and pick up a new piece of jewelry or a Brackish bowtie to sport at our nuptials! Fox and Beaux is where we had our custom engagement rings made, and we cannot say enough good things about Lauren and her team. Located in downtown Asheville, it's an easy stop to pop in and shop their entire collection of men's and women's handmade jewelry, accessories and gifts!
Malaprop's Bookstore
A book lover's favorite in downtown Asheville since 1982, loved locally as well as nationally. Great books, great coffee, and author events held throughout the year. We love stopping here every time we visit just to browse the store!
Ben's Tune Up
Ben's Tune Up is a fun & truly unique local spot on the South Slope of Asheville. They are a sake brewery located in a converted auto shop with an Asian fusion restaurant and beer garden. Don't drink beer? They have a full bar and wine list. Hannah and I weren't expecting much when we first visited, but the environment is so fun, we highly recommend stopping by!
Vinnie's Neighborhood Italian
Cannot say enough good things about Vinnie's! Not a flashy or fancy spot, but absolutely delicious. The service is great, but they do get VERY busy on the weekends. We recommend an earlier dinner here! This is NOT downtown, and you will need to drive or use a ride share service to get there depending on where you are staying.
Antidote at Chemist Spirits
Multi-level cocktail bar with a cute rooftop! 1900s style apothecary with GREAT vibes and awesome bar tenders. We visited recently and really loved our experience. Located in south slope, walkable from downtown!
Ultra Coffeebar
A small but mighty coffee shop in the river arts district! Great coffee and small bites for breakfast.
Chai Pani Asheville
Unfortunately, we haven't visited this establishment yet, but it comes highly recommended from some of our trusted friends! If you like Indian food, it sounds like a must try! Chai Pani features chaat - crunchy, spicy, sweet, tangy, brightly flavored Indian street snacks. And because there's nothing more comforting and delicious in any culture than a home cooked meal, Chai Pani also brings you thalis - traditional family meals highlighting India's amazing culinary diversity.
Zambra
An awesome tapas restaurant in downtown Asheville with amazing food and great wine! We love Zambra for a fancier dinner to treat ourselves when we are visiting.
The Times Bar & Coffee Shop
Small cocktail bar and coffee shop with great bartenders! Right in the middle of downtown and cozy vibes inside.
Wicked Weed Brewing Pub
Located in downtown Asheville, the Brewpub is the original home of Wicked Weed Brewing housing a full restaurant, downstairs beer bar, bottle shop, and original 15 barrel brewery. Complete with a dog-friendly patio and cocktail area, there's something for everyone. We also would recommend checking out the Funkatorium in the South Slope district (a short walk from downtown)!
High Five Coffee
A good place to stop if you need a little pick me up! Nothing too fancy but great coffee and some small bites. Located pretty centrally in downtown Asheville.
Buxton Hall Barbecue
Good BBQ, good vibes, nothing too fancy, close to great breweries! Definitely worth stopping here if you like barbecue.
The Blue Ridge Parkway
The Blue Ridge Parkway is part of the National Park Service and is known as America's Favorite Scenic Drive. As the Parkway approaches Asheville, it offers breathtaking views of some of the highest peaks east of the Mississippi River and access to the area's best hiking trails. The Parkway is easy to explore with no admission fee and frequent, paved overlooks. Visit the website linked here for directions to drive, hike, and/or bike the parkway!
The North Carolina Arboretum
The North Carolina Arboretum's 434-acre campus offers beautiful gardens and natural areas, including the Bonsai Exhibition Garden, 10 miles of forested hiking and biking trails, garden tours, nature activities for families, changing science, art and cultural history exhibits, an on-site bistro and gift shop. Daytime admission into the Arboretum is free; however, a $16 parking fee applies for personal vehicles.
The Biltmore
Elegance and grandeur abound at Biltmore, America’s largest home. This French Renaissance castle in the heart of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains is an architectural jewel. The home features 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces. In addition to the house, the 8,000-acre estate is home to forested trails and beautiful gardens, which include one of the country’s most complete collections of azaleas.
