Eclectic indoor/outdoor cafe offering fresh local eats including seafood. Also visited by Guy Fieri as a favorite spot for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. An ever changing menu, but some of our favorites are the crab cakes, blueberry basil mojito, oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, and biscuits and gravy (brunch on Sat/Sun).
Classic breakfast spot with a fresh twist. Citrus was also featured on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Recommend the benedicts (especially soft shell crab as it will be in season) and all things sweet. If you want to get southern, get the country fried steak or the biscuits and gravy.
The BEST brewery in VA (in our opinion) but be careful, these beers are no joke. Kyle and I have been to 6 Oktoberfest celebrations at Commonwealth (only missing COVID year) and is a tradition we continued this past year for our engagement celebration with friends and family. Featuring big, juicy IPAs, lagers, sours, hard selzters, shuffleboard, cornhole, and wood fired neapolitan pizza. It will always be one of our favorite date nights.
A locals favorite for seafood fare and orange crushes (the official beverage of Virginia Beach). Beautiful water views including one of Pharrell's homes, who is from Virginia Beach.
Open air, casual seafood eatery in the back of "The Shellfish Company". Locals dock their boats at this restaurant for fresh seafood, bar eats, and yummy drinks. The sunset is gorgeous here. Also, walking distance to Chick's Oyster Bar.
Shuckers is a family owned seafood joint with lots on the menu. Kyle frequented the Oceanfront location when he moved to Virginia because they are a NY Giants bar and within walking distance to his apartment. We often stop here before the final bridge tunnel for dinner when driving home from Connecticut. Some of our favorites are the crab dip, lumpia, fish tacos, raw bar, and fried calamari.
Hand crafted ice cream with unique flavors to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Large State Park with trails leading right to the beach!
Lively boardwalk right on the Atlantic Ocean. Kyle and I walked this boardwalk many many times in the first years of our relationship. His apartment was a few blocks back from the 29th Street entrance. We would beer hop, see live bands, and eat plenty of good food. We loved: Calypso Bar and Grill Waterman's Surfside Grill (the OG orange crush) CP Shuckers Smartmouth Brewery The Shack Flipper McCoys (Arcade) Doc Taylor's If you decide to venture this way, recommend Ubering rather than finding and paying for parking.
