It was a warm and sunny day in July, the last day in July to be exact. Hannah had made plans to go to the dog park with Hillary and Abby, and then brunch after. What she didn’t know was that the entire day, including her idea of going to the dog park, had been planned for months by Hillary. After a night of tossing and turning for Hillary, they woke up and got dressed for the day. Hillary wearing something a bit nicer than basketball shorts, which led Hannah to question, “why are you so dressed up”. They got coffee and picked up Abby along the way. Hannah chose to wear a white t-shirt which she almost instantly spilled coffee on (*an important detail to note later). They arrived at the park and headed towards the mountains on the south-west side, a route Hannah and Hillary have taken many a time. One of their first dates was at this very spot. Hillary sensed the time was right and did the prearranged secret signal with Abby. Abby faked a phone call and stayed back so she could sneakily record it all. Hannah unknowingly walked 50 feet ahead. Hillary nervously got down on one knee and rummaged thru her pocket for the ring, a special ring handed down from her dear, sweet, mother. After an awkward couple of minutes of kneeling, Hannah finally figured out that no one was near her anymore and she turned around and realized…..someone was getting proposed to…..and that someone was her!!!!! She cried and came over. Harper barked at a stranger who was getting a little too close to her crying moms. Hannah said yes, obvi, but wished she wasn’t wearing that coffee stained t-shirt. And the rest was herstory!
