One day in June, after exchanging messages online, Hannah invited David to meet her and some friends at a bar after they had gone to after seeing Lizzo. David walked into millennium night at Common Ground in Allston and nearly turned around when he saw what he had gotten himself into. A few drinks and dances later, it was clear we’d meet again. David was a brand new resident at BMC, and Hannah was going into her second year of graduate school at Boston College. Despite hectic schedules and demanding work, we made time for dates all over Boston. We fell in love exploring new restaurants, walking through our new city, and taking trips to the coast. Throughout our time together in Boston, we were each other’s support systems and partners. We stole time for dates between David’s night shifts and Hannah’s long hours providing therapy and even managed to adopt a crazy puppy named Tucker along the way. Our relationship was formed in chaotic times but having each other made the hard times more manageable and the sweet times much sweeter. In May 2021, in Hannah’s childhood backyard and surrounded by photos from our entire relationship, David asked Hannah to marry him. It was the perfect proposal, topped off by champagne with some of our loved ones. Since then, our lives have been a whirlwind. David graduated residency and started fellowship at Yale, which landed us in New Haven for the year. In the meantime, we’ve been wedding planning, getting ready for our move to Columbia, SC, and anticipating becoming husband and wife. We’re so excited to celebrate our love with all of you in May!
