FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We would love to see our friends and family more dressed up for our big day. The dress code is "Garden Party Formal". Think colorful or floral dresses for women and suits for men. Please keep in mind that this will be an outdoor event with a tented reception.

Question

Can I take photos and videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This means that we are kindly asking that all phones be put away and silenced during the ceremony. We have a wonderful photographer to capture the ceremony, and we ask that you be present in the moment with us! We are more than happy to share those photos with you afterwards. At the reception, however, we encourage everyone to take photos and to share those with us as you're able!

Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

If your guest name is listed on your invite or you have a "plus one" option listed when you RSVP, then yes! Otherwise, we would love to keep our wedding as intimate as possible with close friends and family.

Question

Is the venue indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Outdoor! The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will all be outdoors. The reception will be under a tent.

Question

What time should I arrive at the event?

Answer

We ask that all guests arrive at least 30 minutes before the ceremony start time which is 6:00 pm. This ensures that guests will have time to mingle and be seated. Bar service will begin at 5:30, with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to start the evening.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to limited numbers, we hope you understand that our wedding will be child-free, except for the children of those in the wedding party. We hope that you will still be able to join us for this special day, and we look forward to celebrating with you! Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Will transportation to and from the Historic Tuckahoe be provided?

Answer

While we will not be providing transportation, the venue does have plenty of parking spaces if you chose to rent a car for the weekend. Uber and Lyft will also be readily available in the Richmond area if you prefer.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please see the "travel" tab! We have created a hotel block with a link to book your stay in Richmond. Please keep in mind that room blocks for the hotels will end on July 1st.
