What should I wear?

For the Big Day: In traditional dress-code language: "cocktail"/"semi-formal." But in more detail, we hope that you take the opportunity to dress up, while having fun with your personal style and being comfortable! Wear something you can have dinner in and can dance in at our entirely outdoor wedding. We also encourage you to take inspiration from the colors of the backyard and the California sunset. We will be at "Rancho de los Colores" after all. Important: it will likely be warm during the day and chillier at night, so bring layers. We will be walking/standing on grass and gravel a lot of the time, so if you're hoping to wear heels, consider heel protectors and/or multiple pairs of shoes. And while we're not going explicitly with a dress theme - if you've been looking for an excuse to wear your cowboy boots or bolo tie, we're happy for this ranch event to be yours! For the Welcome Party: Dressy casual! Bar Le Cote will be opening their backyard/terrace for the evening, so dress for temps that may dip into the 50s. For the Beach Hang: Whatever you are comfortable in--Feel the sand between your toes (:

Where is the wedding taking place?

This is a backyard wedding! The wedding is taking place at Cole's parent's home and will be entirely outdoors from the ceremony through cocktail hour through dinner and dancing.

How do I get to and from the wedding?
Answer
We have rented a school bus to pick people up before the ceremony and drop people off at the end of the night. When you RSVP we will ask for where you are staying so we can add it to the stop list, and they will pick you up there. So, the bus will make multiple stops. At the end of the night, there will be multiple rounds of drop off, with the DJ making announcements of each departure. There will also be parking on-site if you would prefer to drive yourself. Note that cabs/Uber/Lyft is rare in Santa Ynez, so don't bank on being able to use that. Either use our bus, or drive yourself.

What's the weather like?
Answer
The average high in Santa Ynez in May is 75 degrees F, with a low of 48 degrees F. It's usually pretty dry. We definitely recommend planning layers for all activities of the weekend, but especially the wedding as it is the longest and goes latest into the night. It will likely be warm while the sun is out, and then the temperature drops quite a bit as the sun recedes.

When should I travel to/from the region?
Answer
This is up to you, but we hope that you will be able to join us for the welcome party/dinner on Friday evening, the full wedding on Saturday, and a casual beach hang on Sunday late morning. If you can swing it, a late Thursday May 21 or early Friday May 22 arrival would be great, and a late Sunday May 25 or early Monday May 26 departure would be awesome! We're excited for any window within that that you can join us. We also encourage you to explore the beautiful Santa Ynez, Santa Barbara, and California Coast region for as long as you can!

Are kids welcome?

Kids of guests are MORE than welcome and we are so excited to celebrate across generations with our friends and family. We plan to work with parents to plan how we can make the wedding day enjoyable for kids and parents (including activity areas, kid-friendly food, and requesting K-Pop Demon Hunters from the DJ).

Do you have a registry?
Answer
We do not have a gift registry. It feels impossible to convey how truly we mean that "your presence is a present" and that we're so deeply appreciative of you for traveling to this unique, far-for-many-of-you place to celebrate with us. That is absolutely more than enough, and we're so grateful for your support and investment! In addition, as many of you know, while we await Cole's residency decision and navigate the logistics afterwards, we don't know where we will be living in June 2026! Thus, we're not looking to collect items right now. If gift giving is your love language and you really, REALLY, feel inclined, some ideas include: giving us a book you've loved (used is great!), printing out one of your favorite recipes and marking up the changes you make to it, making us a small photo collection or collage of your favorite memories with us, or otherwise giving us something you like to make or are looking to share.
