FAQs

The Wedding Website of Hannah Shine and Benjamin Wetenhall
Question

What’s the dress code?

Answer

Join us in celebrating Southern elegance at its finest! This is a formal event — absolutely no jeans, T-shirts, khakis, hats, or casual attire. Gentlemen, a suit and tie is perfect, feel free to have fun with a Brackish bow tie or seersucker if that’s your style! Ladies, we kindly ask you to wear a floor-length dress in lovely florals or soft spring colors. No white, of course. Let’s make the evening picture-perfect Charleston chic! We kindly ask that all guests honor our dress code.

Question

How do I know if I have a plus-one?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest friends and family! There are no plus-ones. If you were given a guest, their name will appear on your invitation. Otherwise, we kindly ask that you attend solo and know that we can’t wait to see you there!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. All of our invited guests are age 21 and over. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Our room blocks at the Charleston Place and Holiday Inn in Mt. Pleasant are fully booked. Charleston is also full of beautiful hotels, inns, and charming Airbnb rentals especially in the historic district, where everything is walkable. We recommend booking early, as Charleston is a popular spot year-round.

Question

Is transportation provided?

Answer

Yes, transportation is provided to and from the Holiday Inn in Mt. Pleasant for all weekend festivities. Please see the 'travel' page for the transportation schedule. If you’re planning to drive yourself, there are several affordable parking garages nearby. The Charleston Place also has valet parking. Additionally, rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are easy and reliable in downtown Charleston.

Question

What time should I get there?

Answer

Please arrive to the ceremony no later than 3:45 p.m. The church doors will close and not reopen.

Question

How do we get to the reception?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests will take a short 7-minute walk through historic downtown Charleston to the reception venue. It’s a beautiful route, but please note that the streets are uneven cobblestone and brick in some spots; we recommend wearing comfortable shoes or block heels. You’ll be led by a "second line" of live music straight to the cocktail hour, so get ready for a joyful stroll to kick off the celebration! There will be a trolley for those who don't want to walk.

Question

When is the rsvp deadline?

Answer

The RSVP deadline was March 20, 2026. We are not accepting late responses.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

No flash photography is permitted during the ceremony, as the church has a strict no-flash photography rule. We’d love for everyone to be fully present with us and to avoid any noises or distractions that could interrupt the ceremony.
