Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Hannah Hodgson and Alexander Max
Nepal is one of the most rewarding and unique places to visit in the world. Although not highly developed, for those seeking adventure, culture, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, there is no better place to visit.

Trekking & Outfitting - Base Camp Trek

Base Camp Trekking is our recommended vendor for those seeking to trek while in Nepal. The company is run in part by Jerome Edou, a close friend of Roger Hodgson's. Please note that the packages shown are quite long (~ 2 weeks in length) however Base Camp is happy to tailor a specific trek to your needs, you will just need to specify how many days you want to trek and for how long you are comfortable trekking each day. Please email: sushil@basecamptrek.com & reservation@basecamptrek.com and let them know that Roger Hodgson recommended you reach out to Jerome and Sushil, and that you will be in town for Roger's daughter's wedding.

Kathmandu Sightseeing - Patan

Kathmandu Sightseeing - Patan

Patan, Nepal

Patan - An ancient city nestled in the Kathmandu Valley, Patan was damaged heavily during the 2015 earthquake and has begun to recover in the past few years. We would recommend beginning a visit here at Durbar Square and visiting Krishna Mandir as you arrive. The Patan Museum (where our reception will be held) is right around the corner, and south of the Museum are Mul Chowk and Sundari Chowk.

Kathmandu Sightseeing - Swayambhunath

Kathmandu Sightseeing - Swayambhunath

Kathmandu, Bagmati Province 44600, Nepal

A large temple complex perched in the Western hills above Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is a beautiful serene corner of Kathmandu. On a clear day, you can see clear to the Himalayas along with the entirety of the Kathmandu Valley. Don't feed the monkeys!

Nagarkot

Nagarkot

Nagarkot, Bagmati Province, Nepal

Nagarkot is a great place to spend a night or two outside of Kathmandu city. It is roughly a one hour drive from the capital, with cute hotels overlooking the Himalayas. If you're looking for a place to relax, hike, and gaze out over the Himalayas, Nagarkot is a great option.

Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel, Bagmati Province, Nepal

Dhulikhel is a great place to spend a few nights outside of Kathmandu city. It is roughly a two hour drive from the capital, with cute hotels overlooking the Himalayas. If you're looking for a place to relax, hike, and gaze out over the Himalayas, Dhulikhel is a great option.

Pokhara

Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal

The second city of Nepal, Pokhara is located at the base of the Annapurna Range, on the shores of Phewa lake. While Pokhara has some fun activities in the town i.e. taking boats out on the lake, we would recommend using this as a jumping off point to day hikes in the Himalayan high country. Dhampus - a small town located about 3 hours drive from Pokhara, is an incredible place to hike the foothills of the Annapurnas, we recommend the Mountain Lodges of Nepal - Dhampus Hotel as a base!

Lumbini

Lumbini Province, Nepal

Lumbini is arguably the holiest site in all of Tibetan Buddhism, the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama, the first Buddha. It is a short plane ride away from Kathmandu.

Chitwan National Park

Nepal

Chitwan National Park is the best location for safari-style adventure within Nepal. With extensive populations of elephants and Bengal tigers, this area of the Nepali lowlands offers a great counterpoint to the Himalayan high country.

Mountain Flight (seeing the Himalayas up close- 50 minute flight)

Yeti Airlines offers an aerial tour of Everest and the highest peaks of the Himalayas from the air. Not for the faint of heart!

Nepal

Nepal

Nepal has over 50 government holidays every year. Tihar (festival of lights) is before our celebration and blessings (November 10-14).
