Stanley Campgrounds

We have reserved the Elk Creek Group Campground, which is just outside of Stanley. There is room for quite a lot of tents in the area. There are bathrooms and water at the campground. It is about 15 minutes from Stanley. There are numerous other developed campgrounds around and dispersed camping. If you have more questions about camping ask! Be prepared for below freezing at night. Also see Karl and Hannah’s free camping gear rentals below.

Driving to Stanley

Any way you drive into Stanley is a windy but paved road. There is no cell service for the majority of the way to Stanley from any of the nearest towns. In general, Google maps takes you the right way. Make sure to keep your eyes out for rocks and wildlife on the roads. If you are coming from Boise, there are two routes that go over windy mountain passes or up river canyons. If you are coming from Ketchum/Sun Valley, there is just one mountain pass you will go over.
