Things To Do

Hiking in the Sawtooth's

There are many great hikes in the Sawtooths. In June conditions can very but you will likely hit snow when you start getting up high in the mountains. We will update this page as we get closer to let you know how the mountains are melting out. When we know the conditions better we will add a list of great hikes from 4-15 miles! The link below has a list of some good local hikes with some descriptions about them.

Stanley Museum

Stanley,

The Stanley Museum has some good local history including a historic Forest Service Ranger Station. It is run by the Sawtooth Interpretive and Historic Association (SIHA) a local non profit that Hannah worked her first three summers in Stanley. Link For more information below.

Redfish Visitor Center

Also Run by SIHA the Redfish Visitor Center has information that focuses more on local and natural history. Link is below.

Redfish Lake Lodge

Redfish Lake,

Redfish Lake Lodge is a hub of activity in the summer. Besides for the cabins is features a sit down restaurant, grill, and marina. At the marina you can rent all kinds of boats, site seeing tours and get a shuttle across the lake to access hiking. Link for the Marina is below.

Horseback Rides

Bike Ride

You can rent a bike from Balance Bike Works. There are a wide range of types of rides you can do. Ask Hannah or Karl for recommendations.

Rafting

Stanley, ID

Raft on the upper Salmon River. There are a variety of sections of the river with options for day or half day trips. The River Company is great but there are many other rafting companies in town.

Backpacking in the Sawtooths

June is very early for backpacking in Stanley. If you’re interested in overnight trips check in with Hannah or Karl and they will try and suggest something that might work for you but it will depend on snow melt!

There are lots of places to eat in town. Redfish Lake Lodge - grill outside, bar serves food inside, Limbert’s restaurant sit down style Sawtooth Luces - burgers etc Papa Brunees - pizza etc Sawtooth Hotel - little fancier food, very yummy Supper Club - reasonable prices for Stanley considering its James Beared nominated restaurant, they make pasta in house, very yummy
