Beyond the Veil

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work to figure out how to still celebrate the occasion. Recently, our venue has allowed us the opportunity to have an outdoor wedding. This will allow for more space and guests while still adhering to safety guidelines. We will be sending out new invitations soon. With that being said, if you still feel uncomfortable or are no longer able to make it, please contact Hanna or Marcus. Sending our love, H&M

How We Met

Meeting My Future

This is my story of how I met my future wife, Hanna Faye. We met off a dating app (not tinder) during in the winter of 2013. Hanna’s profile caught my eye because she was so beautiful and she mentioned that she liked watching the UFC. She said her favorite fighter was Georges St. Pierre, who happened to be fighting that weekend. I wrote up a long, cheesy message asking Hanna if she wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings with me that Saturday and watch the fight. Hanna replied that she would be happy to join me. She was the first girl I messaged on that dating app and she was also the last. When that Saturday finally came and as I was waiting alone in the Buffalo Wild Wings, I was beyond anxious. Thoughts of being awkward or being stood up crossed my mind. I was also excited to meet this pretty girl I met on the internet. Hanna walked into the restaurant wearing a cute headband and a bright green, Purdue sweatshirt. We introduced ourselves and stood awkwardly at the crowded entrance for a table to open up for us. After a minute of waiting, I suggested we try another restaurant a couple blocks away to see if they were showing the fight. Hanna said sure and we were off.

I led Hanna across the bdubs parking lot and towards the other restaurant. It was a chilly night, but we stayed warm by distracting ourselves with small talk and filling in the basic get to know ya information. I knew where the restaurant was located, but not necessarily how to get there. My plan was to go through a parking garage and pop out on the other side in front of the restaurant. I led Hanna into the parking garage (she probs shouldn’t have followed). Hanna came out of the parking garage as safe as could be because she was with me. Anyways, the restaurant wasn’t showing the fight so we had to go back to buffalo wild wings. We finally got a table and watched the fight. Hanna’s fighter won then retired on air. She told me she was on Speedway, which I didn’t know was a town and thought she meant she lived behind the gas station down the hill. We talked about our families and hobbies and goals. We left the restaurant and went our separate ways into the night. This is how I met my other half, Hanna Faye.
