We're Getting Married!

We met at the gym while I was getting ready for my competition. I was working there part-time while in college and Steve came for a workout one afternoon. Being the friendly guy that he is, he started talking to me and found out about my competition. He was curious about my meal plan and ended up getting my phone number so I could send it over. Soon after that, he conned me into doing one of the hardest workouts (still to-date) with him and would treat me to Dairy Queen after (keep in mind I had been on a strict clean diet for months). Our relationship started on the basis of working out and still continues to be one of our favorite things to do together! The next day he introduced me to Drake (Our sweet 6-year-old red fox lab) and we went to the dog park together. I was hooked and since then we have been inseparable.

For a Christmas present, Steve surprised me with booked flights and hotel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (a place we have been wanting to go for quite some time). Typically, I always have my finger on the pulse about everything, but this time I was clueless. On the fourth night that we were there, Steve mentioned wanting to watch the sunset, so we went down by the ocean and nuzzled in a hammock together while watching the sun get closer and closer to the ocean. After enjoying some time together watching the sun go down we decided to head out and meet up with some friends but wanted a picture first. Questioning if we should get the sun or the mountains in the picture, Steve told the cameraman just to take a video of it all. Soon enough Steve got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I cried and said YES as he tried to squeeze the ring over my huge knuckle (something we still laugh about to this day). We spent the rest of the trip relaxing and enjoying our first few days engaged and in paradise together. We are so excited to go back to Mexico and celebrate the next chapter of our lives with you.
