Overview of Events

We are having a 2-part wedding event with the smaller wedding ceremony taking place in Italy (5/20/20), followed by a larger celebration in Germany (5/23/20). Everyone invited to Italy is also invited to Germany; we understand coordinating travel plans for 2 countries may be difficult & expensive, but we would love to host you in Germany also so you can see where Nils is from, where we met, & to meet the rest of our friends & family there. If there's anything we can do to assist you with your travel plans, please let us know. We are happy to help. We will try to arrange for travelling in groups for any legs of the trip for easier, cheaper and more fun travel! Please see the Travel Notes for more information. There will be no formal invitations coming, your postcard serves as your invitation to the Italian ceremony and German celebration. You should submit your RSVPs through this website, by Feb. 1, 2020, and separately for Italy and Germany. Children are welcome!

A Day in Porto Venere

A Day in Cinque Terre

This is a free day for people to relax, explore, or if you like, accompany us on a tour of the colorful and quaint cliff town of Manarola (our favorite village of the 5). See Things To Do for a description. More details to follow...

Wedding Ceremony

3:00 pm

Formal Garden Attire: long gowns or sundresses, dressy jumpsuits, floral prints/bright colors, suits in lighter hues.

Children are welcome! Parking is available on site for 4-5 cars. Ceremony will take place on the grass, so be mindful of heels.

Let the Party Continue! (Departure for Germany)

10:00 am

Villa Le Palme checkout is 10am. For those of you coming to Italy, we would also LOVE to see you at the German celebration in the town where we met! This will be the day we depart for Germany, potentially together or in groups to facilitate easier and more fun travel! Please see Travel Notes for more details on getting from Italy to Germany. Nils & Hanna will depart for Germany Thursday night to be able to set up for the German celebration on Friday, but we encourage all others to stay until Friday, when the accommodations in Germany become available at Gut Wittmoldt.

German Celebration

Garden/Smart Casual Attire

This will be a more inclusive celebration on the beautiful lakeside property of the Sartory family, Gut Wittmoldt, which is a nature reserve located on the Kleiner Plöner See (Little Plön Lake). We will start the day off with outdoor games, music and drinks, and bring in food trucks offering tasty bites of regional German cuisine and an authentic Italian ice cream bike supplying our favorite flavors from our most-loved local Italian 'eis' shop. We will set up tables and chairs within the barn for continued eating, drinking, and dancing if it rains. The night will end with bonfires and dancing. Dress smart but be mindful of footwear as the ground is either grass (outside) or soft (inside barn). Bring a coat or sweater for the potentially cool night.
