Grab a BlueBike from a station near the hotel and ride the path through Somerville! You'll see many of the reasons we love the area so much. The path will take you all the way from Boston's North Station to Davis Square, near our home.
We take our cocktails seriously, and backbar consistently makes some of the best. Have a conversation with any of the bartenders, and they'll serve up something excellent to suit your taste. It's a bit small and they don't take reservations, so we recommend showing up early!
Don't let the name fool you - all three museums are united in one building. The collections rival those of many national museums: 250,000 objects in all media, ranging from antiquity to the present and originating in Europe, North America, North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia. Open Tuesday-Sunday and free to the public.
Vast collection of animal specimens, fossils, minerals, and gemstones. Don't skip the glass flowers exhibit, which features hyper-realistic botanical models from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Open daily. Walk through historic Harvard Yard and Harvard Square afterward.
Chill taproom serving beer and coffee. Good variety of beers for those who are sick to death of IPAs. It's housed in Bow Market, a collection of boutiques and restaurants around a central courtyard, which is also a great place for poking around.
Gorgeous art museum housed in the founder's personal mansion styled after the Renaissance palaces of Venice. The museum was the site of what many consider the largest unsolved art heist in history, and you can still see the empty frames which once displayed the 13 stolen pieces.
The United States' first garden cemetery and the final resting place of many members of Boston's historic upper class. The cemetery is also an arboretum and a bird hotspot - Liz has had multiple run-ins with red-tailed hawks and wild turkeys here. Stop by Sofra Bakery across the street for award-winning pastries.
We almost got married here! The Charles River Speedway was our runner-up wedding venue. Notch makes excellent beer, and we also like the cocktails at Birds of Paradise and the sake at Koji Club. Grab some slices from Pizza Project while you're here.
