Philadelphia's annual Italian Market Festival takes places Saturday, May 20th - Sunday, May 21st from 11am-6pm. The festival includes live music, arts and crafts, *Grease Pole contest*, the traditional Procession of Saints, and LOTS of delicious food throughout the market.
Rittenhouse Square is the most popular neighborhood in Philadelphia, with its namesake Rittenhouse Square Park at it's center. It has some of the best fine dining experiences in the city, restaurants with sidewalk seating for alfresco dining/drinking and plenty of shopping.
Famous indoor farmer's market offering diverse fare, housewares & area specialties. Beiler's Donuts (especially the apple fritter) and any of the smoothie/juice spots are some of our favs! The market is open everyday 8am-6pm, with a few of the Dutch vendors closed on Sundays.
If you're looking for a relaxing walk through historic neighborhoods lined with houses built at the start of the American Revolution, make your way to Society Hill. Start at the intersection of 2nd and Delancey street. Take Delancey down to 4th Street, and make a left down 4th. Go one block until you come to Pine Street and make a right. Take Pine Street as far as you'd like! It's a beautiful street that goes all the way to 26th Street, running into the upscale residential parks and neighborhoods of Rittenhouse Square, Fitler Square and the Schuylkill River Walk.
Check out the infamous Rocky Steps leading up to the Art Museum. Buy tickets to enter the museum, or enjoy an afternoon relaxing on the museum steps or waterfront park behind the building. Afterwards, take a stroll on the Schuylkill River Trail that cuts behind the museum.
One of Philly's many outdoor beer gardens, which overlooks the Liberty Bell and Independence Park. Although it's far less "garden" compared to the other beer gardens in the city, it's great for large groups!
Urban park located in Penn's Landing along the Delaware River. Features a boardwalk with food and drink vendors (we suggest trying the Crab Fries), hammocks, games and more.
There is no shortage of history in the city of Brotherly Love. If you're up for it, check out the Liberty Bell and surrounding historic sites!
