For the Wedding on Friday, the attire is black-tie preferred. Tuxes & evening gowns (any color*) are encouraged! Dark-colored suits & cocktail dresses are also welcome. Both the ceremony & reception will be indoors. Don't be afraid to dress up, we want you to look & feel your best! For the Welcome Party on Thursday night, the attire is dressy-casual. We suggest wearing what you would wear to a nice dinner (think: slacks, collared shirts, blazers, blouses, skirts, sundresses, cocktail dresses). The party will be primarily indoors, with an option to step outside to the wet deck & secret garden. *Note: Colorful attire is absolutely okay. "Black-tie" doesn't mean you have to wear black, but you can if you want! Please reserve white/cream shades for the bride.
If your formal invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding reception to be your night off, so please plan accordingly! Our wedding reception is adults only. For assistance finding a sitter, reach out to us (Jordan or Hank) or your hotel concierge. (Note: Kids may join us at the Welcome Party, Church Ceremony and Saturday Farewell Gathering.)
We're hosting a causal Block Party/Open House at our new place on Saturday from noon-3pm. If you'll still be in town, feel free to stop by to say goodbye and join us for a drink or two! The city's annual Italian Festival is also taking place just 2 blocks away on 9th Street. Check out the "Things to Do" page for more info.
After the Wedding Ceremony, we will provide 2 shuttle busses to transport guests from the Church to the Reception (St. Mary's --> Downtown Club). In order to accomodate all of our guests, each shuttle bus will make 2-3 trips. Guests that don't make it on the 1st round of busses may have a ~20 min wait outside the church (we'll provide some beverages while you wait). If you prefer to get their sooner, you can also order your own Uber/Lyft (~5 min drive). But don't worry, everyone should still make it in time to enjoy cocktail "hour" given that it's actually 1.5 hrs long! For all other transportation needs -- including getting to the church & at the end of the night -- we suggest catching a ride via Uber/Lyft or ask your hotel concierge to order you a taxi. With reasonable shoes, the city is also very walkable. The hotels, church & reception are all within 1 mi radius or less. And if you're staying at the Hotel Monaco by Kimpton, you'll be able to easily walk back after the Reception. Sandals will also be provided in case anyone wants to kick-off their heels.
Valet parking is available at each of the 4 hotels for $50-$60/night. For less expensive and even a few FREE parking options, copy/paste the Google Doc link below into your browser. https://docs.google.com/document/d/19-r8MY3fdipQLYD8tca5TEnXCkiOGB4R49EUn6-UQGA/edit?usp=sharing Please note: There is no designated parking available at the church or the reception venue. As mentioned above, we suggest taking an Uber/Lyft to the Church Ceremony, and then back to your hotel at the end of the night. We will provide transportation from the Church to the Reception.
No. Since our wedding is on a Friday, we have decided not to have a full Catholic mass (i.e. there will be no communion). Music will start a little before 4pm, and the ceremony will formally begin slightly after 4pm. We anticipate it will last ~45 minutes. If you plan to attend mass on Saturday or Sunday, there is certainly no shortage of Roman Catholic churches in the city! Here are just a few weekend mass schedules: -Old St. Mary (252 S 4th St): Sat @ 4:30pm or Sun @ 10am -Old St. Joseph (321 Willings Alley): Sat @ 5:30pm or Sun @ 7:30am, 9:30am & 11:30am -St. Mary Magdalene de Pazzi (712 Montrose St): Sun @ 10am -St. Paul (923 Christian St): Sun @ 8am, noon & 5pm
