so to preface: i started college telling everyone that would listen that i would be single all of college to ~focus on myself and school.~ fast forward two days into freshman year orientation when my first friend in college (who eventually became my roommate for 2 years and bridesmaid) introduced me to her friends from high school. one of which happened to be very cute and fortunately pretty flirty. my prior plans of being single faded quickly. i don't think we even had one time together that either of us, or anyone around us, believed we were just good pals. despite this fact, we spent the entire first semester as 'just friends.' we were trying to take things slow, and not rush into anything just because it was new and fun. after a loooong semester of many discussions of what our future would look like, we spent winter break thinking and praying about what we want from our relationship. on january 5, 2019 we went on our first official date, drove around for an uncomfortably long amount of time, and eventually ended up in the OLMC parking lot where jack asked me to be his girlfriend:) starting to date was so! much! fun! after so many months of being unsure. it did not take long before i said the first 'i love you.' at least, i thought it didn't take long, but apparently i was a few months behind jack (lol). junior year we reached another point where my emotion driven nature wanted to talk all things future, and jack's logical nature said: we will get there when we get there (which happened to be quite similar to freshmen year). until one day we were cooking together and he walks over to me, puts a twist tie on my finger and said "okay i think we should start to talk about getting married" let me tell you i was freaking out. fast forward a year later we got officially engaged at OLMC, which is the same place we started dating and will be married!!! i am so excited to get to be best friends FOREVER!

"Young boy meets the girl of his dreams and tries not to screw it up." Might be a more appropriate title for this section, but it was too many characters... Hannah and I first met on the corner of University and First Street. A remarkably unremarkable section of Purdue save for this moment. I was a little bit sweaty that day, opting that morning to wear a "cool college outfit" despite the August heat. Fortunately for me, the glistening beads were "very cute" and my cheesy dad jokes came off as "pretty flirty", and now that hot day marks the first of a lifelong friendship. That friendship came with many other firsts; first I love you, first kiss, first round of disc golf, first date, first "date" date, first road trip, first slow dance in the kitchen, and first will you marry me. Behind each one of these firsts is something truly special, it's the thing that I fell for, and boy howdy I still can't see the bottom. From the first time we met, I have been continually amazed at Hannah's capacity to love. And not only the capacity but the type, it's a love that is so attractive it draws us in closer, challenges us, and changes our hearts. It, like the hallmark twinkle, had me hooked in the first scene. So look no further than a conversation with Hannah to know what our story is really all about and to know why I asked her to be my bride, a love beyond measure.

For all the days along the way
