First date was at The Torch Bistro in Norfolk- He was early and I was running late (of course because of work). Pretty sure after that night we went out almost every night.
Lambeau joins the family and instantly fit right in with us. Of course John is a little more practical about things with him (except when it come to dog treats) and I'm the crazy dog mom. Lambeau might be a bully breed dog, but he is definitely not a bully. He is absolutely the sweetest dog with so much personality.
Our spring and summer of 2020 was an adventurous one. Before and during COVID we managed to buy a house, sell a house, move and both get new jobs. It was definitely a little stressful and a little fun, but we survived and definitely grew closer as a couple.
The day we got engaged started off as any Monday with virtual school at our house for Taylar and work for me in the afternoon and evening. Of course my car trouble I had on the way to work probably threw a bit of wrench in John's plans. He came and rescued me once virtual school ended and football practice was over for me. Got my car back on the road and home in time to be greeted by a hungry 11 y.o. asking when and what's for dinner. We did our normal family dinner routine, but John had planned s'mores by the fire pit for dessert to celebrate our 3 year anniversary on the actual day. See we had celebrated our anniversary a day early because we knew I had to work and it was a school night in our house. I was more wrapped up in Taylar's excitement about our "camp" fire I didn't thing anything more of the night. After Taylar's excitement was gone and she was over eating s'more and roasting marshmallows she left us for TV time. It wasn't long after that in our back yard by a fire that John got down on one knee and popped the question. I was very surprised and over the moon excited.
