FAQs

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We have decided not to have kids at the Ceremony and reception, (Our exceptions are for the groom's niece Margaret and the bride's nephew Hudson and babies in arms). All kids are welcome to events the day before and day after. We will help figure out child care, let us know if you want in on that!

Question

We want to come but can't figure out childcare

Answer

If the need is there, we can help find a babysitter that could hang with kiddos at one of the houses down the beach from the wedding. Let us know if you want in on this!

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

NO PARKING FOR GUESTS AT THE WEDDING SITE, you will be parking at the neighbors. Unless we have told you otherwise, please park at The Fladebo’s lot at this address a couple houses down: 11312 192nd Ave Ct NW, Gig Harbor WA 98329. Look for the Gold Balloons at top of the Fladebo driveway, go to the end of driveway and park in the field on your left. Follow the signs/ solar lights on the path to the ceremony or walk down to the beach and take a right. The parking spots at the Rocky Bay house and wedding location are reserved for vendors/band/catering etc. Please also note the wedding property is just off of a 45 mph state highway and there is no shoulder for parking and we prefer nobody walk on the main road at all.

Question

What do Hami and Rachel want me to bring?

Answer

YOUR OWN CUP! bring a cup that you can hold your wine Friday night, have a cocktail or mocktail in during the wedding, or have some coffee in the day after. Ideal cups would be insulated and have a top, but try to avoid glass please. This will cut down on waste and spills and help people keep track of their own drinkies.

Question

What to wear (what is dressy casual?)

Answer

DRESSY CASUAL is the attire: "A balance between formal and relaxed styles." For Women: Midi Dresses, sundresses, long summer dresses, or even well-chosen jumpsuits can be appropriate. For Men: Dress pants, linen or khaki also fine, nice button down Collared shirt in solid or subtle pattern is a safe bet. Blazer or sport coats welcome, but not required and you might be hot. Lightweight suits okay (linen or cotton). Shoe wear: Beach is rocky, there is uneven ground under some big Doug fir trees for reception, some gravel, pine cones, it’s rustic. Contact Rachel with specific attire and shoe questions, I'm happy to discuss! I can even send you photos of the beach stones or whatever you need! Wear what makes you feel good, look at the weather, and be ready to dance. Ceremony will be on a rocky beach and there's some uneven terrain in the reception area with some gravel or patchy grass and pine needles under some huge Doug fir trees.

Question

Shoe Wear (Can I wear heals)?

Answer

Ceremony will be on a rocky beach and there's some uneven terrain in the reception area with gravel, as well as pine needles and patchy grass under some huge Doug fir trees, and metal grate stairs as one of the ways down to the beach, please take this into consideration with footwear. Heals will be very tough at this event and kind of unsafe! You could probably get away with some short wedges, but very tall or narrow wedges will also be very difficult to walk in around the property. Rachel is going to try to wear some short wedges for the ceremony, but might change into flat strappy sandals for the evening. Please reach out to Rachel with specific attire and shoe questions, I'm happy to discuss! I can even send you photos of the beach stones or whatever you need!

Question

Do we have to get a gift off the registry?

Answer

No! If you don't see anything that moves you on our registry page, we also like things that are hand made or home made, edible, drinkable or art/photography as gifts! Outdoor furniture could be great too!

Question

Where do I provide dietary restrictions/allergies?

Answer

On the RSVP page! Or just text us

Question

Will there be Golf?

Answer

Golf is totally optional and will not be an organized wedding event. We thought there might be interest in a round of golf, but turns out there will be things to do Friday to help set up for the wedding, if you’d like to help, wonderful! Let us know! Golf on your own if you want though by all means! Otherwise go for a paddle, hike, or visit Gig Harbor etc.

Question

Is Rachel going to change her last name?

Answer

Though she is honored to be a member of the Anderson family, Rachel will be keeping her last name Byrne. Hamilton is honored to be a member of the Byrne family, but he will also be keeping his last name Anderson.
