Derrick is one of the smartest guys Chisum knows. One of his best friends in high school, they were roommates their freshman year of college. They share one brain cell, and Derrick has had it for the last 12 years.

Hali technically met Christina online through her author Instagram account and an in-person signing at Barnes & Noble, but they've become close friends through weekly writing groups and a writing retreat Christina hosts!

John is currently Chisum's Sergeant, but they started working at the jail together at the same time almost three years ago and have worked on pretty much the same team/shift ever since.
