Best Man
Eddie has been Haley's best friend since meeting at a summer theater camp in 2006 when she started calling him Edferd. (Was she a bully? Ask Edferd.) Through growing up and coming out together, Eddie has been a constant, always available to offer unconditional support, tough love, and photos of Debbie Reynolds. For years, Eddie was a fixture at Haley's family Thanksgivings and he has forever secured a place in the family. His partner Dillon is also a treasured part of our family--so much so that he's officiating the wedding! In 13 years of friendship, Haley & Eddie have only taken one good photo together.
Maid of Honor
Samantha & Teddy know each other from their days at Hawaii Prep Academy, the boarding school they both attended. Sami took in Teddy like a lost rescue puppy & they quickly became honorary members of each other's families. While walking down the beach in North Carolina as teenagers, half a world away from where they met, Sam & Teddy resolved that far, far, far in the future they would pick one another as maids of honor. Ever since Teddy got to follow through on that for Sam in the summer of 2018, Sam has been looking forward to the day it would be her turn to return the favor as the elderly matron of honor & can't wait to celebrate Haley joining the family.
Bridesmaid
Haley met Emily during their Spring 2015 semester at NYU DC. Haley was intimidated by how cool Emily was, but they quickly bonded over a shared love of dogs with jobs, reality television, and oversharing. From little things like a checking in to big things like making trips to DC, Emily always finds a way to show up. Emily and her boyfriend Jordan are recognized members of Haley & Teddy's marriage and if Teddy wasn't marrying Haley, they'd both be competing to marry Emily.
Bridesmaid
Maddie met Teddy when she was born. It's been chill ever since.
Bridesman
Michael and Haley also met during their Spring semester at NYU DC and immediately became friends over a shared love of moms and shared aversion to mandatory group activities. He is brilliant, hilarious, and incredibly dedicated to his friends and critically acclaimed podcast Not Her Again. Michael firmly believes that lesbians should be in charge of everything and is a natural fit to affirm Haley's every wedding whim. Find him on the dance floor when Britney plays.
Bridesmaid
Five years ago Teddy responded to Kathleen's housing ad with a funny email about being a) able to husk a coconut with a spear, and b) very gay. Kathleen desired all these talents in a roommate and so, a truly epic friendship began. Over the next two years, Teddy learned to make chorizo tacos (Kathleen's recipe) and Teddy taught Kathleen how to select a good red wine. Now, they live within walking distance and aspire to run an old dog sanctuary together with their very patient partners. They will get friendship tattoos but are still mulling over options less brazen than Brandi Carlile's face.
Bridesmaid
Haley and Vivian met in the #nyu2016 tag in 2012 on the Cursed Website Tumblr. They decided to room together freshman year and have been close friends ever since. Vivian has seen Haley through every crisis and triumph of the last 7 years with incredible understanding, compassion, and humor. Vivian introduced Haley to the concept of dating women and filling in her eyebrows, so please thank her if you see her.
Bridesmaid
Teddy & Hana also met at Hawaii Prep Academy. Teddy was initially suspicious of Hana since she was trying to steal all of her friends. Once they actually met, they became fast friends and soon honorary family members. Teddy once spent a very eventful Thanksgiving with Hana's family, where Hana's stepdad taught Teddy how to ride a dirtbike -- minus how to brake. Turned out okay for the most part!
