FAQs

Read our Q and As for some more information on our big weekend. If you have any additional questions, you are always welcome to reach out to us!
Question

Where and when should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP on the "RSVP" tab of our website no later than February 1st.

Question

What time should I arrive to the wedding?

Answer

Please aim to arrive by 3 pm. Cell service is a little unreliable, so I would download directions to the venue beforehand and give a little extra time to travel on the mountain roads. The Baraat starts at 3:15 PM and the ceremony will start at 4 PM.

Question

Will any event be outside?

Answer

The Baraat is the pre-ceremony parade led by the groom's family. This event starts at 3:15 PM and will take place outdoors on the gravel parking lot. The ceremony will be indoors at 4 PM. Cocktail hour will begin at 5 PM and will take place outside as long as weathering is permitting. The venue has a large lawn, shaded areas, heaters, and a firepit. The reception will be indoors following cocktail hour. Please be aware that the weather in Georgia during March can be variable especially closer to the mountains. Expect temperatures to range anywhere from 45 to 70 degrees.

Question

What is the easiest way to get to and from the wedding venue?

Answer

The Venue at Sharp Mountain is about an hour's drive from our hotel blocks as well as from Atlanta. The easiest way to get there is by car or by scheduled ride shares like Uber or Lyft. There are not many rideshare options in Jasper, so if you do plan on using a rideshare service, please schedule the rideshare in advanced. Our reception will end at 10 PM. If you plan on driving, there is a large parking lot at the venue. Please be careful on the mountain roads at night. We have been told that Jasper sheriffs are also very active.

Question

What Should I do if I don't make it into the Hotel Block?

Answer

If you miss the deadline to reserve a room with our hotel blocks, reach out to the hotel and mention our wedding. Both hotels have mentioned they should be able to accommodate you outside of the block.

Question

What is the Mehndi/Sangeet and what should I wear?

Answer

The Mehndi/Sangeet is a vibrant evening filled with music, food, dancing, and fun. As part of the celebration, guests are invited to join in the Hindu tradition of getting their hands adorned with mehndi (henna) designs. It’s the perfect way to relax, mingle, and celebrate before the big day, and we’re so excited to share this evening with all of you! Attire is Indian or Western formal. We would love our guests to celebrate in Indian attire if you are able. Women may wear sarees, lehengas, anarkalis, cocktail or midi-length dresses, jumpsuits, or fun separates. Men may wear kurtas and kotis, sherwanis, Indo-Western suits, suits, or sport coats with slacks. Have fun with prints, embroidery, or sparkle! If you would like to get henna, we recommend wearing outfits with short or loose sleeves. Check out our Pinterest board of Indian outfits examples for this event: https://pin.it/7fyE00ohD

Question

This is my first time wearing Indian attire, what kinds of outfits and where should I be looking at?

Answer

Shopping online can be really convenient. Keep in mind that many items need alterations, especially for women ordering two-piece outfits with a blouse. Shipping can also take a while if ordering from India and returns can be a hassle (most online stores do not cover the cost of shipping). Some online shops I recommend are: - Amazon (easy return process but many blouses come only as fabrics that need to be given to a tailor to be stitched to your size) - Lashkaraa (I have personally had the best experience with this online store, sizes are accurate to their measurement guide, returns are a hassle) - allborrow.com (like rent the runway but for Indian attire) If you live in Atlanta, I recommend shopping in person at Global Mall in Norcross or at some places in Decatur. Some of our recommendations are: - Ladlee (at Global Mall) - Rahul's (at Global Mall) - Mirage Saree (in Decatur) You can check out our Pinterest boards for some inspiration and please feel free to reach out to us if you want any help or a shopping buddy! Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus one or my children?

Answer

We kindly ask that our guests RSVP for only those listed on the invitation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Haley or Sapan.

Question

What type of food will be served?

Answer

All of our events will have mostly vegetarian food options with some chicken dinner options, and every dish will be labeled if an item is vegetarian, vegan, contains gluten, or contains nuts. If you have specific dietary or allergy restrictions beyond vegetarian, please let us know in your RSVP.

Question

Where should we bring or send our wedding gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to 1600 Maybell Trail, Lawrenceville, GA 30044. A wedding card box will be at our reception.
