Haley and Sam will be spending their Colorado Adventure Day tubing in Lyons. There is a park near Downtown Lyons where you can rent a tube, set up a spot, and spend the day floating on the St. Vrain. BYOB!
Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. If you're looking to explore a classic small mountain town with a fun downtown, Estes Park is a 30-minute drive from Lyons. For those horror movie fans, check out the Stanley Hotel, which is the inspiration for The Shining!
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of four national parks in Colorado. You can view the beautiful Colorado mountains from your car or from a trail (whatever you prefer). You will need to purchase a park pass to enter. Additionally, the park requires a timed entry permit if you want to enter between 9am to 2pm. There is lots to do in Boulder, just a 20-minute drive from Lyons. Check out Pearl Street Mall with lots of restaurants and shops. You can also hike at Chautauqua Park for those who want more of an outdoor experience.
