Sam was just minding his business playing some dumb game on the couch in the early weeks of February 2016 when he received a picture of Haley from his oft enabling BFF, Tane, and attached to the pic were the words that would change the course of Sam's life (in more ways than we can talk about this website): "she thinks you're cute" Fast-forward through clunky Facebook messages and late-night texts where they pretended they weren't both in their respective beds eating Hot Cheeto's from the bag and watching Bob's Burgers (oh, young love), and they found themselves at a brewery in OKC. Sam (conveniently) forgot his wallet and LEFT THE DATE TO GO GET IT (but it's fine because he paid for Haley's extra order of fries), and they drove around trying not to hold hands. After, Sam texted Tane the romantic, fateful words: "you got me fucked up" What followed were some months where Haley existentially panicked about the prospect of having met someone who seemed like her soulmate (if there ever was such a thing) at a young age. There's so much independent life to live! How will she share her Hot Cheeto's! What if Michael Strahan or Samira Wiley fall in love with her? (still a possibility) Ultimately, one can't say no to love. blegh. On June 12th Haley found herself leaned up against Sam at a quiet, solemn event, where he was softly singing into her ear, "She Burns" by Foy Vance (I know, turn back now before it gets worse) and later that night they drove around (what is with all this DRIVING??) until they were in front of Haley's house and she kissed Sam for the first time (sorry kids). The rest is boring history. No jokes, there have been so many tiny moments that have built this life. Haley and Sam have learned together how to show up for each other in intricate ways. Life comes at you fast and they have transitioned, adjusted, and leaned further into each other through it all. This next step is their greatest adventure yet, and they are grateful to share it with you all.
