When Dylan and Haley met, Dylan had recently moved to Charleston for work and Haley was finishing her senior year at the College of Charleston. During this time, Haley was bartending at a place on King Street called “Kingdom” and Dylan fancied himself a drink. After many trips to Kingdom, Haley decided she was going to make the first move and ask Dylan if he was ever going to ask for her number. She put her number in his phone and they planned their first date to “Locals”- a sushi restaurant in Mount Pleasant. It wasn’t long before sushi dates were an every Monday kind of thing. Swing dancing, boating, traveling to hunt tests with Grady, camping, going to church, and concerts are some of their favorite things to do together. After 6 moves, 5 job changes, 4 years, 3 towns, 2 puppies, and the purchase of our first home, WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

Buying a home is always cause for celebration. With a group of close friends in town for the weekend, a house-warming party was in order. No one had a clue the house-warming party was just the facade to the engagement party that followed. That Saturday Haley, Dylan, Will, Kinsey, Breland, and Chandler went to a bar near and dear to Haley and Dylan, The Belmont. The Belmont is where Dylan first asked Haley to be his girlfriend and where many sentimental memories would be made; with every visit to the Belmont a sweet-nothing note would be written on a cloth napkin and kept for keepsake. On June 12, 2021 Dylan snuck a napkin in his pocket before excusing himself to the bathroom, where he wrote “Will You Marry Me?” And presented it to Haley at her seat. Happiness and tears ensued as did even more celebrations!
