The Domain du Val boasts a 300-acre private forest and lake, ideal for walks (marked trails), bird watching and fishing. Within the gardens of the Chateau, guests will find a private swimming pool (15m) and tennis court. The pool has a cover to extend the swimming season from April to October. The fully covered pool can be opened in warm weather. In close proximity are a number of pretty villages such as La Gacilly, the home of Yves Rocher and its botanical gardens; Loheac, famous for its classic car museum; Rochefort-en-Terre, with its cobbled streets and half timbered houses; and the harbor of La Roche Bernard. The family beaches of Pénestin and Damgan are renowned for their sea food and visits to the oyster beds, whereas La Baule (70km) offers a more lively atmosphere. A number of golf courses are in proximity including the reputed course of “La Bretesche”.
