Rebecca and Chris first met during their freshman year at the University of Buffalo. Rebecca lived on one side of campus, and Chris lived on the other, so their paths might have never crossed if it weren’t for their mutual friend groups. They quickly became friends, and as they spent more time together, they discovered that they shared a few classes. Over the next four years, their friendship grew stronger, and eventually, they realized there was more than just a friendship between them. They decided to start dating, and from there, it was clear they were meant to be together. After graduation, Rebecca finished school as a registered nurse, and Chris earned his degree in environmental design. The next step? Moving to Charleston, South Carolina, to start a new adventure. There, Rebecca began her Nurse Practitioner program, and they adopted their first dog, Coco. Free time (when there was any) was spent at the beach or walking around picturesque downtown, where they came across Hall's Chophouse, which became a routine dinner spot for celebrating something special. Life in Charleston was busy but rewarding—long workdays for both of them, with Rebecca studying at night—but they embraced it all, knowing they were building something special together. Two years later, they decided it was time for something different and moved to Charlotte for new job opportunities and to be closer to friends. Charlotte brought a fresh start, new memories, and new challenges, but it was also the place where Chris managed to collect three motorcycles before Rebecca got an engagement ring—and she reminded him of this daily! Weekends were spent taking Coco for walks, having lake days with friends, or going on adventures in the mountains of Asheville. Over their two years in Charlotte, both grew personally and professionally, with Rebecca earning her master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, before deciding to move back to the Syracuse area to be closer to family. Once back home in Skaneateles, they planned a trip to Italy to make up for the years they hadn’t been able to travel due to the pandemic. Rebecca had everything planned out to the minute, including when and where they needed to be each day. They spent a few days exploring all that Rome had to offer before heading to Positano. Positano was filled with relaxing on the beach, enjoying all the food (and gelato) they could eat, and taking in the unforgettable views. Towards the end of the trip, they had a boat day planned to explore the island of Capri. And after eight years of friendship and dating, this was where Chris decided to finally ask the question to which Rebecca excitedly said yes. The journey to where they are today has had its ups and downs, but looking back, Rebecca and Chris can’t help but feel thankful for the journey that brought them here. From their college days to building a life across different cities and eventually returning home, they’ve supported each other through every challenge and celebrated each victory together. Their relationship has been built on a strong foundation of friendship, trust, and shared dreams. They couldn’t be more happy to continue writing their story together—one filled with love, laughter, and the countless adventures still to come.
