Travel and Accommodations

The Wedding Website of Hailey Burley and Lucas Beck
Our talented friend Morgan Park drew this map of Gustavus for us. This may be helpful to reference when planning your trip and once you arrive. Gustavus is off the road system and can only be accessed by plane or ferry from Juneau. There are multiple daily options for flights. A ferry also runs here twice a week. Though, Gustavus is relatively remote we do have a small grocery store, a liquor store, and a couple of restaurants. Please reach out if you have questions! We would appreciate you reaching out earlier rather than later as May starts our busy season with work.

Flight

Alaskan Airlines

Alaskan airline offers one daily flight from Juneau (JNU) to Gustavus (GST) in the summer months.

Flight

Alaska Seaplanes

Alaska Seaplanes has multiple daily flight options on small planes. This will be the most expensive option but may be worth it to save on lodging in Juneau.

Travel Note

Alaska Marine Highway

A ferry comes to Gustavus twice a week (Monday and Thursday). This is your cheapest option and also a very fun Southeast Alaskan experience! The ferry ride is 5 hours and 45 minutes from Juneau. *This schedule is subject to change. Summer ferry schedule will be announced sometime this winter.

Rental Car

Bud's Rent a Car and Strawberry Point Taxi

 9075005618

Bud's Rental Car: The only rental option in Gustavus! Simply email or call Bud once you have your travel plans nailed down. budsrentacar@gmail.com You may decide you do not need a car while you are in town. Most lodges provide transportation from the airport. There are also a few taxi services in town. Strawberry Point Taxi: We recommend this taxi service. Call 907-697-2150 or 907-209-8620. The more we can share rides with each other, the easier it will be for everyone to get around town to wedding events. Please, be mindful of limited taxi capacity and try to fit as many people as is safe in each ride. Thanks!

Travel Note

Places to Stay

Gustavus has lodges, inns, and airbnbs. Gustavus Visitor's Association has a webpage with places to stay. As a town of 400 people, it's a bit of a different scene than most wedding venues, so there are a few things you should know about lodging: 1. Summer is the busy (tourist) season, so things book up fast. We recommend making reservations soon. 2. We did NOT reserve room blocks anywhere. Most places in Gustavus aren't that sophisticated. 3. While small in population, Gustavus is very spread out: close to 20 miles from end to end. Most places farther out offer meals (or kitchens) and shuttle service into town at least once a day, but be sure to check the exact location of your accommodation! You may want to consider renting a car. Places in more central locations may offer bikes to ride around town. Be sure to ask! 4. Tent camping is always an option! We can point in you in the right direction if you would like to go this route.
