See where Mike went down on one knee, and asked the big question to Meg! Located in the “Sand Hills” area, it is one of the oldest working lighthouses in the country. Currently under restoration/construction, but should be ready by our wedding day! The Atlantic Ocean greets you front and center. Bring a jacket, even if it’s a warm day! (2 miles from the church. Plenty of parking).
About a quarter mile walk from the church. Cross over the bridge, take a right and you’re there. It’s the sandiest beach in Scituate (most of the beaches are rocky) and it’s lovely. If the surf is up you will see surfers shredding the waves. The walk there is beautiful because you can see the harbor on one side and the marsh/ocean on the other. But you can also drive there, and park your car at the huge parking lot!
The most tranquil and beautiful trail in Scituate. You can walk through the woods for 10 minutes and then you are face to face with the marsh and Atlantic Ocean. Lots of birds. Throw a pair of sandals in your car though…you won’t make it to the end in heels because parts of the trail are sandy. If you don’t feel like walking to the end, you can walk along the North River. There are two docks with benches and you can watch the paddle boarders and kayakers. AND, you can keep your fancy shoes on(1.5 miles from the church, ample parking….and one of three ways to get to Untold Brewing, just saying).
It’s only natural to suggest a brewery, since Mike loves craft beer! There isn’t food, but sometimes on the weekends there might be a food truck. This brewery has an outdoor patio and there is also live music, usually on Fridays. (2 miles from the church, ample parking).
This restaurant just completed a major renovation. Small bites. Large selection of beer, wine and spirits. Live music on Saturdays and Sundays. (Smack in the middle of the harbor, plenty of parking… and a 5 minute walk from the church!)
