Ah, the million dollar question. It took us a while to get here so let us explain… Julian and Rasha would have loved to have the wedding in Lebanon. It was Rasha's dream since she was a little girl but, unfortunately due to the current economic situation, the couple decided it was best not to bring and be responsible for a large group of people to an unstable (but beautiful :)) country. And.. as much as we would love to think Iraq is an option.. well.. thanks Bush. For months, we went through every country and city you could imagine and felt Athens was the best option. Plus, Greek culture is very similar to that of the Middle East and it's only 2 hours away from Lebanon, making it easy for Lebanese passport holders to obtain a Visa whereas having it in the USA or Canada would have made this more difficult. We know that this wasn't a convenient decision for many however, we appreciate your efforts to attend. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
The ceremony will be outdoors, weather permitting, and the reception will be in a grassy area. Please ensure your shoes are comfortable to walk in grass (ladies, we mean you!) Attire is formal, so dress your best! Floor length gown or cocktail dress is great. Suit required, tux is optional. Dark linen suits are acceptable. Please do NOT wear white to any events.
While we aren't local to Greece to make recommendations, our wedding planner gave us the following options: (Please book at your own risk) 1. Strass Coiffure: http://www.strasscoiffure.gr/ This option is near the venue. They are normally closed Mondays however, they will accommodate a group (4-5 persons) on the wedding day. If you're interested, gather a group together and email them at strasscoiffure@gmail.com to book. Mention Maria, our planner and our wedding. 2. Bridal Beauty: http://www.bridalbeauty.gr/en/. They will do appointments where they come to you or you can go to them at the salon. ( The costs should be 35 euros for hair, 45 euros for makeup +extra charge for lashes). They may charge a travel fee if they have to come to you. However, if you are in Athens proper then there shouldn’t be a fee. Please ensure you book in advanced as their salon is also closed on Mondays. info@beautyathome.gr 3.
