It’s 2021. Aidan had graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. After starting as a Biology Major, he ended with an International Business degree, officially ruling out both medical school and baseball. This decision was reinforced by the realization that the MLB was not, in fact, going to be calling, despite a collegiate career he still reminisces about to this day. Like most recent graduates, he found himself exploring opportunities he hadn’t originally envisioned, approaching each one with optimism in true Aidan fashion. Blair had graduated from San Diego State with a Biology Degree. Medical school had been on the horizon, until she realized it wasn’t actually the path she wanted to take. Certain of two things: she wasn’t ready to move back to Texas and San Diego was where she wanted to be, so she trusted her instincts and dove into the next chapter. Like much of the world, everything slowed with COVID. Plans paused, paths shifted, and timing quietly reset, making room for two paths that were about to cross. When things began moving again, the world proved to be smaller than expected. Despite many mutual friends and overlapping circles, Aidan and Blair had somehow never met- until they were independently presented with opportunities to join the same San Diego-based company. Shortly after Blair started, Aidan was moved to her team, where the two spent the next year competing relentlessly for the top spot on the sales leaderboard. We won’t say who was always #1 (Blair), but we will tell you they consistently held the #1 and #2 spots. What began as a professional rivalry steadily turned into mutual respect, and it became clear to everyone involved that these two were going to be together. Aidan strategically planned a team happy hour on his boat. Blair was not about to miss this even though her brother Reid was visiting. No worries, Reid understood the assignment. Aidan and Reid hit it off immediately and planned a prank exploding a beer that sent Blair into freezing water. Notorious video seen above quickly went viral, and was later purchased by Ridiculousness. Over the next five years, the competition didn’t disappear - it just changed. And eventually, they realized the only thing better than beating each other was choosing each other. Now, as they close their San Diego chapter, they’re heading back to Texas together -- still overly competitive, just finally on the same team, and this time, with the same last name.
