Caroline, a Connecticut native, moved to New Hampshire in 2017 for a new job as a police officer. She met Ryan, who worked as a police officer in the neighboring town, during her first month of field training. After they met, Ryan and Caroline saw each other occasionally on duty, and they eventually exchanged phone numbers. Ryan will tell you he initiated the first date, but Caroline will swear she asked him out first. For their first unofficial date, they went to a shooting range for an afternoon. The next week, Ryan asked Caroline out to dinner for their first "official" date and the rest was history. Over the years, Caroline and Ryan have bonded over a mutual love of the outdoors, camping, hiking (sometimes Caroline more so than Ryan), traveling throughout New England, and craft breweries. Although they no longer share the same profession, they share the same love for each other and excitement for adventure. Even though Ryan and Caroline's schedules seldom overlap, they make the best out of the time they have together. They enjoy cooking meals, sampling new beers, and camping in Maine (even when it always seems to rain). On December 13, 2020, Ryan and Caroline had a rare day off together. They spent the afternoon driving through Maine, testing out a new brewery, and visiting the waterfalls at Grafton Notch State Park. During their trip to the waterfalls, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. Needless to say, Caroline said yes!
