This is going to be a Jew-ISH ceremony, meaning we will be incorporating a few rituals that are commonly seen in a Jewish wedding. Some of these include: 1. Circling: The bride and groom circle each other 3 times each, then make 1 circle together. This is to symbolize the creation of a family unit, and the forming of independent and complimentary orbits, or the creation of our own universe. 2. Reading of Seven Blessings: With the help of our family, we will read seven blessings related to love, health, family, and more to bless the soon to be new couple! 3. Breaking of the Glass: Every Jewish wedding ends with the groom stomping on a piece of glass. This is to remind the couple that through good times and bad times, they will stay true to each other and support each other no matter where life takes them. ~ But don't worry, we will be throwing a bit of our own creative ideas into the ceremony as well!
YES! We will start off the reception with dancing the "Horah", which is a traditional type of Israeli Dancing. Essentially, everyone forms a big circle, holds hands, and the circle moves in one direction or another. The bride, groom, wedding party, and families will form smaller circles inside this bigger circle. And yes, chairs will be brought to the center of the circle so the bride and groom can be hoisted into the air!
Yes. We are registered at Bed Bath and Beyond, both in store and online. While we greatly appreciate any gift you wish to purchase through the registry, the truth is that we have everything we basically need for our home. What we need most of all are monetary donations for our honey moon fund and backyard landscaping and fencing fund. Help us get to Italy and keep our nosey neighbors out of our driveway!
