How We Met

Our story starts the way all great love stories do - at the swim house.

We met in January 2019 over an intense game involving ping pong balls and red solo cups. Gwynnie had just returned to Atlanta after many months of post-undergrad travel, and Tom was just starting out his senior year at Emory. As is recommended for any successful relationship, we almost immediately moved to opposite ends of the country - Gwynnie to start a job as a paralegal in Washington DC, and Tom to work at a bank in San Francisco. This first year of our relationship consisted of many cross-country redeye flights and all-too-brief weekend visits. While the world stood still during COVID, and we both temporarily relocated to our family's homes on the east coast, we took the opportunity to explore several states out west via a long road trip. One of the destinations on that trip was Boulder, igniting our passion for the town we have now called home since Spring 2022.

The Proposal

He gave a rock... on a rock!

Close your eyes and think of a romantic meal - you're likely envisioning a gut-busting, all-you-can-eat Nepalese buffet. That's exactly where we found ourselves the evening of June 1st, 2024, when Tom "casually" suggested a visit to watch the sunset at the top of Flagstaff mountain, which is coincidentally in our back yard. Gwynnie was suspicious. Fast forward thirty minutes past Tom's nervous chatter on the drive up, the scurry of our friends hiding in the bushes, and a short walk out to Artist Point as the sun was dipping below the horizon.
