Hike To The Base of Engineer Mountain

Join us for a hike in the beautiful San Juan Mountians! This is one of our favorite local hikes and it has some incredible views of the San Juan’s. It’s about a 5 mile hike round trip with around 1200 feet of elevation gain. We’ll plan to hike to the meadows at the base of Engineer but if you’re feeling spicy you can continue on to the summit of Engineer Mountain (12,986 ft). If you’d like to join, please be ready to go at the trailhead at 9am. If you type in “Coal Bank Pass” into google maps, it’ll take you to a parking lot on the right side of the road. There is a dirt trailhead across the road where you can find parking as well (there can be some big pot holes so if you have low clearance it might be a good idea to park on the pavement side). We’ll leave promptly to beat the afternoon thunderstorms!
