Allie was hard at work creating an inventory list for laboratory supplies in February 2014. Furiously typing on the computer when all of a sudden, her boss comes around the corner. Trailing behind the boss was a group of new hires. She waved a quick hello and turned back to her computer to continue to look super busy at her desk. Little did she know that amongst these new hires was her soulmate. At first their conversations were strictly work related. How to cap thousands of tubes in the laboratory to prevent contamination, how to label those thousands of tubes for processing, how to make a tub of 10% bleach to clean laboratory supplies, who’s going to die next week on Game of Thrones…the list goes on and on. Hours upon hours were spent sitting at a bench together capping and labeling tubes and getting to know each other. While developing callouses from capping tubes, they also developed feelings for each other. Cut to Halloween night 2015. Allie invited Gunnar to Echo Stage to celebrate a friend’s birthday VIP-style. She was dressed as a sugar skull. Him – Kung Fury. They danced and danced and danced all night long. By the end of the night Allie decided to shoot her shot and tell Gunnar she liked him. He was shocked and surprised and admitted he liked her too. Six years, two apartments, one home, two cats, and countless adventures later they are finally getting hitched!
