ATL or BHM?
Cheaha Mountain is roughly halfway between Atlanta and Birmingham, with a travel time of 60 minutes from each location. Our hotel block will be in Oxford-Anniston, just at the base of the mountain (30 minutes from the park). Groome Transportation (linked below) offers a direct shuttle from Atlanta's Airport to Oxford, which drops off next door to the Hampton Inn. Rental cars are also available at both airports. Uber and Lyft both service Anniston/Oxford.

We have Bald Rock Lodge booked at Cheaha, which sleeps 30 people. Please contact us directly to discuss staying at the lodge. We will happily consider all requests. Onsite cabins and chalets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is also a Glamping option and primitive and improved camping sites. Bonus: There is a playground at the Upper Primitive campground open to all park guests. You can't go wrong!

We have a room block at the Hampton Inn at the base of the mountain, which is just off Interstate 20. This is practically equidistant from Atlanta and Birmingham. There are Queen Double rooms as well as King Rooms available for a discounted rate of $114/night. The block is for Thursday 11/13-Sunday 11/16. The wedding day shuttle will be from this site. If you choose to stay at a different hotel, there are MANY in close proximity. The Holiday Inn Express (next door to the Hampton) is the drop-off location of the ATL airport shuttle through Groome Transportation. If the Hampton Inn fills up, our room block automatically spills over to the Holiday Inn. NOTE: This discounted rate expires 30 days prior to the wedding (10/14/25).

The shuttle will begin moving guests from the Hampton Inn to Bald Rock lodge at 4pm. The wedding ceremony begins at 5. If you plan to use your own transportation, there is ample parking at the lodge. Tell the park gatekeeper you are there for the Guevara-Vargas wedding, and they will let you through. Note: Missed or can't wait for the shuttle? Uber and Lyft both provide service to/from Cheaha State Park (approx. $40 each way from Anniston/Oxford).
